Where does the time go?

I can't believe it's late april! Where does the time go? Seems impossible for my great-granddaughter Haley to be a year old already! I just realized my granddaughter, Jeanette is graduating next year! Today i am feeling really OLD. All the rain doesn't help that either. =-)

I've just found out today i'm going to be great grandma again! Wow! I'm telling you these things are not helping my feeling so OLD. LOL. I'm really glad though.

I just came in to say hi and if anyone cares, i'm doing fine. HUGS

A sad day

I'm finally able to post about my sadness. We had to put down our dog, baby bear, Jan. 2. She was 16 years old and had a horrible cancerous tumor on her chest. She was our baby. It's so very empty here in our house without her. Our white kitty, Snow White, is greiving too. She loved bear and would talk to her and even kiss her! I'm worried she might greive too much. Our life was so revolved around bear it's just really hard to have life without her! She was part shepherd and lab. People told us she looked like a black german shepherd. She was so sweet and really smart. Even when she got so she couldn't hear we could do hand signals and she caught on to them so rapidly! I always thought she should have been a guide dog. I won't talk too long about her as i'll just cry, not for her so much as for myself, my loss. She's finally not suffering.

It's really cold here today. We have lots of snow and are supposed have more. We're used to it here in Iowa tho. Not loving it but just used to the fact that we will have lots of snow and cold! =-) How's the weather where you are? I'd love to know.

Babies are sooooooooo cute!

I babysat for Haley, my great-granddaughter on Wednesday all night! I must say i was rather nervous. =-) She is just such a doll baby! She cood, blew bubbles, and tried to talk to me. We had a small time with crying but that was expected. LOL. I sat there after she went to sleep and watched her...she giggled out loud! It was histerical. She slept from around 11:00pm to 7:30am! Her mom asked me how i got her to do that! LOL. I guess she usually wakes up around 4:30am to eat! I must say this bought with babysitting really cheered me up! I find i have more patience than i used to. Imagine that? =-) I'm putting a couple photos of her here for you to see. Enjoy! Have a sunshine day my friends. HUGS

Graduations Over!

Hi everyone! Welcome back. I sometimes feel this is stupid as i don't have many see my page but i guess it still makes me feel good to write down thoughts. =) Sunday was my middle granddaughter, Jessicas graduation. The photo is Jessica and her grandpa Larry, Pooh as they call him. He's my sweet hubby. We went and watched her graduate. She is so smart! She gets straight As. She has her college all paid for and we think even her lodging. She will be starting her new life soon. We are all so proud of her! She told me she wants to be a teacher. She'll make a good one too. Doesn't grandpa look proud? =0) We went out to "grannie carols" home. That's what the grands call her. We had a nice potluck and lots of photos were taken. I'll post some soon. Carol has a wonderful home in the country with a pond. It's really lovely and peaceful. She had a huge cake made with Jessicas photo on it. I'll post that too. For now i just wanted to touch base and say "It's finally over!" LOL. I should say for 2 years, then my Jeanette will be graduating. Wow, time flies when your lifes fun. You all be safe now and come back. Stay happy. HUGS

Rain, Rain, Go Away!

I swear all it does is rain! I'm so sick of rain. Right now it's getting all dark again. I want my sunshine back. LOL. I guess i'll have to craft again today.

What's it like where you are? What are you crafting? I'd like to hear. I'm still making my dolls. I need to make more ATCs but just can't get inspired. My granddaughter and great granddaughter are in Calif. visiting relatives so i'm kind of missing them. =) Really i wish i were there with them! I haven't been to California since i was 19 and that's been quite a long time! =) I'd love to be by the beach just sitting, watching.

We had hoped to go to yard sales today but couldn't...no funds. =) I love finding buttons, cloth, broken jewelry, just anything to help with my doll making. I couldn't go anyhow as it's raining too hard! Darn. Can you tell i'm bored today? LOL.

Nothing much to say today. I think i'll go work on more dolls. I wish you all the best day ever! Spend it with loved ones, craft, whatever makes you happy! Until next time. BIG HUGS

Sunday fun

Here are 2 of the dotees i created last night. I just have so much fun making these. I hope someone will trade me someday! It's fun to see others work.

I'm a little down today. My darn printer ran out of ink, my car(Geo Metro) died for good(i think) and I still haven't gotten my face stamper from Hobby Lobby! I went to see about the stamper and they didn't know what i was talking about! I told them one of their help was supposed to order one for me! Anyhow, i guess i'll wait and have to order/find something online! I did get my little face mold for clay. No clay yet but soon i hope! I missed my chance at a yard sale! She had lots on sale for 50cents each but some other lady beat me to it and wouldn't let me look! =( Darn. I know eventually i will get the things i need but not soon. I have to be patient. =-) I did get some neat papers for 10cents each, oh, and some buttons and material. I got a huge bag for $1.00. The lady knew me as she lives up the street so she was kind to me. Last year she gave me a whole sack of nice socks as she was changing to all white. I'm still wearing them. We found each other on Freecycle. It's a great place to share things you don't want with someone in your area who might need them. I got a like new stroller and baby carseat for my great granddaughter.

Today i made lasagna and garlic bread. Here is the recipe for the Lasagna, it came from Hy-Vee Test Kitchens

Fuss-Free Lasagna

All you need

1 pound ground beef, browned(i just chopped it up raw and cooked it on low)

1 package (8 oz) no boil lasagna noodles, broken into thirds

1/2 cup Hy-Vee reduced-fat ricotta cheese

1 1/2 cup Hy-Vee 2% milk shredded mozzarella cheese

2 jars (26 oz. each) Hy-Vee traditional pasta sauce

All You Do:

1. Combine all ingredients in a greased slow-cooker

2. Cook on HIGH for 2 1/2 hours or LOW for 5 hours

This was really good. I think next time i will use 2 of the pkg lasagna noodles or just 1 jar pasta sauce as we like it less saucy. I'm all for easy too!

Thanks for coming to see my blog. I hope you'll try the recipe. It's good! Add some garlic bread and maybe a small salad...Yummy! Blessings....
